The thought of people, who can't return to their homes due to devastation, will be kicked out of hotels so that the marathon runners have a place to stay is disgusting!!!
We don’t have power, no heat, not enough gas, water damage and homeless individuals … what more?!?!
Let’s not get started on the fact that “non-union help” has been turned away! Seriously? This is beyond ridiculous!!!

JoJohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09231609105700262105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683448766058931668.post-78075130616475336242012-11-02T11:20:19.434-07:002012-11-02T11:20:19.434-07:00This is a very hot topic here. Most of us believe ...This is a very hot topic here. Most of us believe it should be canceled/postponed just like everything else around here. Wait until we are back to 'normal."

Out of sensitivity to all the devastated folks who have lost homes and livelihoods it should be postponed.
I can't think of how any of the money generated by the marathon will help the folks in Queens, Breezy point, staten island, or long island.-meanwhile they are the people whom are trying to get back to work and have to wait on hours long lines for gas and food AND cannot get into NYC because transportation is still down...
Did I mention that you must have three people in a car to enter NYC on any bridges or tunnels?
What about our scarce gas and food being used up by MORE people flooding into our area?
I told you this was a hot topic, now I'm all worked up! Thank you for writing about this as it deserves discussion.preppyplayerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07488992569447830584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683448766058931668.post-46133673450340656072012-11-02T08:44:53.852-07:002012-11-02T08:44:53.852-07:00a few years ago our city had a horrible flood and ...a few years ago our city had a horrible flood and our big steeplchase was to be that weekend... our city was in the same debate, but it went on as planned and brought our city the funds from the event, it may have even rose awareness and gotten outside help at a time of need...the same could occur for this event!sweetpeahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15395744733226289416noreply@blogger.com
