It's so nice to meet a fellow House of Mirth fan.

I absolutely loved Pat Conroy about 25 years ago but haven't read anything of his in a very long time. I somehow missed reading Beach Music and will have to pick that up.

As far as other recommendations, nothing is jumping out at me right now. I read War and Peace and attempted to read Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children last year. Both were such a huge investment of time and energy that I have yet to recover and get back into my regular reading mode.

Have you ever read The Known World? I read it several years ago, but it is a book that has stuck with me. I would also appreciate other recommendations from you.

I've signed up as a follower of your blog, so I'll be checking back with you soon.Eloisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08974737894674278154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4683448766058931668.post-26903369938836271392009-01-16T14:36:00.000-08:002009-01-16T14:36:00.000-08:00I followed you here from Eloise's blog (Weasel's J...I followed you here from Eloise's blog (Weasel's Journey). I read "House of Mirth" just this week!

I cannot wait for Conroy's new book. It has been more than ten years since he published a novel.

Have you read "Olive Kitteridge". "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society"? "The Art of Racing in the Rain"? All were my top reads in 2008.JoAnnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09600670648603318536noreply@blogger.com
