Thank You

Thanks to everyone for your words of support and many prayers. I received good news last  week - all of my scans came back clear - the cancer has not spread anywhere else. Yay!!

Of course, my new headshots for work arrived today. Soon I won't have this head of hair. Oh, well. I'll adjust.

Chemo starts this Thursday. I'll have two different sessions of treatments over the next five months. Followed by surgery, then radiation. Whew.

Last Friday I went wig shopping with a good friend of mine. I became very emotional when I walked in the store, but everyone put me at ease. I couldn't get over how real wigs look these days! I also bought a pretty cotton scarf that will be perfect for warm summer days. I will definitely be donning that with a big straw hat at the pool this summer!

Happy Monday, friends. Have a wonderful day!

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

So glad for the good news. I will continue to pray for you as you go though chemo. Expect some emotional ups and downs along the way. It is part of the process. If you breakdown and cry, wel that's OK too. Be patient with yourself as you lose enrgy along with you hair. Treat yourself with grace and mercy. I don't speak jas one who has gone through the treatments, but as one who has prayed for some very dear friends and my sister as they endured their treatments. You will thrive and survive!

I am also a fellow Kentucky girl (I live in Lexington), and have been reading your blog for a while. I really enjoy your insights.

So glad to hear this good news. I hope you'll update every once in a while to let us know how you're doing. I truly admire your attitude and grace. You are in my prayers.

Its none of my business, but consider going without a wig, and doing it proudly. You're a beautiful and young woman with a beautiful family and loving friends, and if anyone can pull off the "not taking any BS" look, its you.

It's my first time visiting your blog and I'm sorry to read about your news. I am a breast cancer survivor... some of the best advice I got was "you will get through this." I told myself that many a day.

Here are some foods that were recommended and worked well for me during chemo: string cheese, saltines, apple sauce, canned mandarin oranges, Cozy Sh@ck rice pudding, Cryst@l Light lemonade, baked chicken, WW Mac and Cheese, pizza, and frozen fruit bars. Drink lots of fluids.

So glad your scans were clear. That is huge! My prayers and good wishes go out to you.
