The Death of Volvo??

Saw an interesting article in AdWeek which noted the ten brands that are predicted to die within the next year. One shocked me: the Volvo. I can’t imagine not having this staple of suburban safety, the fridge-like box-on-wheels no longer on the roads, or at least no longer available at dealerships.

Another prediction is that Martha Stewart Living magazine will fold. Hmm, no more pages full of Martha perfection?

What are your thoughts on the top 10? Any others you see falling by the wayside in coming years?

Neh-vah!!!! Volvo isn't going anywhere. Where I live, though I no longer drive one - I have had 2, they are plentiful and everywhere you turn!
I disagree with Adweek this time.

I would not be the least bit surprised if Volvo went by the wayside. Ever since Ford took over Volvo the quality has gone down hill, much like when GM took over SAAB which is now defunct.

A Chinese firm now owns Volvo. With plans to launch a new V60 wagon in the fall I am not sure I see them folding. Ford would have killed the company for certain, as they were a terrible manager of a great brand. DG is right: GM killed Saab, and what a loss. This Chinese firm seems to be bringing quality back, while competing with Germans on style. As for MSL, good riddance.

Even if I live in the country where VOLVO "was born" we haven't had one before but now my H has thought about if our next car will be..... a VOLVO!

But who would have ever thought that Gourmet would not be in my mailbox every month?
