House for Sale

Well, we made a bold move last weekend by putting an offer on a house and placing our house for sale. Because, you know, we just don’t have enough going on in our lives.

Actually we have been looking at houses for a while, wanting to move closer to town, closer to where our kids are in pre-school, their future grade school, our church, etc. We’ve seen several homes, but nothing quite met the bill. Then early last week I saw a newer listing within our price range and told my husband about it. We called our realtor, walked through it and made an offer. After some back and forth countering, they accepted. We completed the paperwork on our house and the sign went up in the yard Sunday evening. So, my Mother’s Day was spent de-cluttering, pulling weeds and doing other chores to make the house look presentable for showings.

I’m nervous because the purchase of the new house is based on a contingency, so hopefully our house will sell in a timely manner. If you know of anyone looking for a traditional, center-hall Colonial in Louisville, please send them my way!

So, dear blogger friends, if you wouldn’t mind, please say a prayer for us. I bought a St. Joseph statue on Monday and we buried it in the front yard (yes, my Catholic voodoo is tried and true). I’ve been saying a prayer to St. Joe every morning, in hopes that the right buyer comes along. We actually have a showing today, so fingers crossed that good things come of it.

Have a great Wednesday!

P.S. - Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes that you passed along to my son. He had a great day. And one of you asked if he's a little ornery because of the expression on his face. Yes, my son can be quite the pistol. But while he can be mischievious, he can also be the sweetest child. He's constantly telling me that he loves me and when I say I love him, he says "Thank you!"

Best of luck with the sale of your home and congrats on the new one! I'm sure things will move along in a very timely manner-the market isn't as bad as everyone thinks. You just need a bit of patience.

We've had four offers on ours, just none close enough, though we're getting there. I know y'all will get there, too!

Can't wait to see the new house!

How exciting. I get my saints all mixed up. There is one for "lost causes" which this isn't of course, but I can't remember his/her name. I used to ask him/her for help all the time.

xo,
Tish

Moving? NO!!! (frowning)
Well, I hope your house sells fast. They seem to go quickly in this neighborhood, so the quicker, the better, right?!
Good luck, you guys will be missed.

Oh, I hope you can sell it soon. I put our house on Craigslist and I had plenty of people email me about it. Luckily we sold the house three days after the sign went up. I am excited for you and I too will pray!

Didn't you just remodel? I'm sure that will help with the selling... I just know that buyer is out there. She just needs to find you! Good luck!

I can't wait to see pictures. With our many (and I do mean many) military moves I always keep this thought close ~ if it's meant to be, everything will work out. I'll keep you in my prayers ~ keep us posted on the progress.

Good luck to you guys. I wish you much more luck than we have currently. We are left hanging in limbo with a buyer who's mortgage lenders are not too keen to give her the money.
Now, what statue do I have to buy and where do I have to burry it exactly?

That is so exciting! I am sure that the statue will work a treat. I will get my very Catholic mum to say a prayer too! Sometimes I think that she has a direct line to heaven when she says her prayers!

Best wishes always,
Natasha.

good luck with everything! i am sure it is not easy keeping everything in order to be able to get ready to show! (i cannot imagine, although i dream of moving to a newer house -- ours is 100 this year!) you've got it on the market at the right time of year, and i'm sure with your style and elegance you'll have an offer in no time!
