Goodbye, Etta

I was standing at the lunch counter at an Italilan grocery today, waiting on my Muffaletta sandwich, when I heard one of my favorite songs, "At Last," by Etta James. I think I even swayed back and forth a little bit as I listened to it. Then, upon returning to the office, I learned of Etta's death.

Thank you, Ms. James, for your contribution to the world of music. That voice of yours will be sorely missed.

She was a tortured soul....and a great vocal artist. "I'd rather go blind" is a haunting song. God speed Etta...

Such a shame...she should've had at least 10 more years of music in her.

She was a great singer and I know that her voice will live forever.

Thanks, that made me go to Youtube and listen to her again (and of course she is everywhere in our lives). In one video bizarre they focused on the dancers on DWTS rather than on her....
