The Morning Routine

Me before my coffee in the morning:

What my first cup of coffee looks like to me as I take it my hands:

Yeah, coffee is my rock star.

I wish my morning routine involved getting up early (earlier than normal), hitting the treadmill and then partaking in a cup of coffee in a civilized manner. But, my reality is falling out of bed, stumbling to the shower, then grabbing coffee with a shaky hand because my body needs to feed its caffeine habit. Oh, well. Such is life.

What does your morning routine entail?

I am proud of the fact that I got a run in before the sun went down yesterday. The weather was mild and I craved an outdoor run rather than the treadmill in the basement. When I returned, I learned I missed an interesting conversation between father and son.

While watching a program on the Disney Channel where a mom was pregnant and about to deliver, Little Man asks, "How are they going to get the baby out?"

Hubby: "They're going to the hospital." (Safe, round-about answer.)

Little Man: "Oh, does she then open her mouth really wide?" (Pointing to his mouth like a doctor with a tongue depressor)

Oh, Lord.

Hahahaha! It is so funny to hear children when they think they've got it all figured out. ;)

I am not much of a help in the morning prior to coffee either. I am constantly in awe of those who jump out of bed and go to the gym in the morning.

Don't you love the innocence of children? Adorable. I broke my coffee habit last May and now have to have something to eat before 9 am or I'm a horrid mess. Love that glitter cup. Enjoy the week.

LOL! My morning routine ,right now, is fall out bed, get ready for work, and try to get to office and coffee pot before the caffeine withdrawl headache kicks in.

I would be embarrassed to tell you what my morning routine entails so I will have to keep it to myself! :) Maybe my secret shame will be enough to force me to get up a little earlier from now on and start my day like a normal person instead of running around like a chicken with my head cut off every morning!! LOL!

HYSTERICAL! gotta love those questions :)

I need my coffee too! I have set my alarm for 5:30 the last two mornings and still have failed to wake up and get going so I can have so peace and prepare for the day. I am SO out of wack since not work. I have GOT to get a groove down and FAST!

Here's hoping for 5:30am tomorrow with a nice cup of Joe greeting me and you both :)

My doublenonfatlatteinalargecup is everything to me. In fact it's embarrassing to acknowledge how much. I actually really miss my local coffee shop when I travel.

What a wonderful story with your son! My mornings always starts with a cup of tea and a daily and I love weekends when I can sit and enjoy it much longer.

I have been trying to cut back on my coffee and although it's been hard I do feel better for doing it. I haven't given up on caffeine altogether though...I am still drinking lots of strong tea!

Best wishes and happy new year!
Natasha.

Instead of "out of the mouthes of babes" it's "babes out of the mouthes" - ha ha.

SO ironic you ask this as I was just wishing I was the kind to wake up early and go for a morning walk. I've tried but I was really too tired during the day and was also scared of being kidnapped or attacked by dogs. It's just too dark out there that early.

I tried to quit coffee cold turkey once and had a three day migraine b/c of it. I decided that it's one thing that I love in life and there are too many reports stating it's benefits - so why deprive myself of it?
