And Off They Go...

Today was an emotional day for me. My baby started kindergarten, my eldest, second grade.

Little Man did so well this morning, but when it came time to gather around his teacher and head to his classroom, he buried himself in my lap and started to cry. Heartbreaking for this mommy. So, the teacher recommended that Hubby walk him upstairs with the group and I stay behind. She said sometimes it's harder to say goodbye to the mom than the dad. So, I hid in the crowd and watched him leave. I stayed with Miss E. who is now an old pro at this first-day-of-school thing. In fact, I think she was ready for me to leave!

I took the day off yesterday to spend it with the kids. We enjoyed one last day of summer vacation at the swimming pool after running errands, which included dropping off yet another check at school.

And so it begins...

Have your kids started back to school? How was the first day?

Oh now I'm a bit tearful myself. What a cutie pie pair in their lovely outfits and backpacks.

So darling. I love first day. Got a little teary when you described your boy's tears. Out of the five I had one who cried, she still doesn't like to leave me and she is 23!

So adorable!
I bet there was a lot of excited chatter at your dinner table reliving their first day of the new year.

Delightful heartache! Indeed.

We started 7th grade yesterday. I got a "grunt" over the phone--letting me know that all went well.
