We Remember

There’s been a lot of brouhaha in the news of late about a certain crazy in Florida. I’d rather not dedicate much space to him today. But, I would like to say something to the news media:

STOP GIVING THIS GUY A PLATFORM IN WHICH TO SPREAD HIS HATE SPEECH! YOU ARE HELPING THIS GUY ENDANGER OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN THE MILITARY! GIVE IT A REST!

Geez, imagine if the media gave that much air-time to, say, conquering childhood poverty or improving our education system.

Tomorrow is September 11. Nine years ago, many lives were lost, families were destroyed, our country was shaken and we were left stunned, numb, angry – you name the emotion, we felt it. But, we are the United States of America, we are a proud nation, full of hope. Don’t forget what we should focus on tomorrow. Remember the lives that were lost. Don’t focus on hate. Do something meaningful for those people. Say a prayer, do a good deed, spend time with your loved ones.

Happy Friday, everyone. Hope you have a great weekend.

Agree on the idiot in Florida.
Everyone was changed that day. Trust was injured forever in each of us. Not lost, but injured. The way we look at things is different.
This is a beautiful post.
Have a nice weekend.

Sometimes I'm happy I miss the news because my little one prefers Dora or Kai Lan - don't even know about the crazy in FL but I'm sure I'd agree that they're crazy. I lived in NYC during Sept 11 and it's a day that every detail is seared in my memory. My husband and I try to find a way to pay our respects every 9.11, even if it's to go into a church and say a prayer. xoxo

My heart goes out to the families and friends of anyone who lost a dear love that day. But my heart also goes out to all who were affected by such an act ~ which to me is the world. I cannot magine anyone on this planet who was not affected in someone by such tragic loss.

My dear friend your words are wonderful .. my many people read your wonderful wonders and choose love and understanding of others.

Hugs to all ..HHL

Having grown up in Manhattan I am a part of that city and it will always be home to me. I lived on the Upper East Side, worlds away from The Towers. My father had a client at Cantor Fitzgerald, the investment firm on the 105th floor of the North Tower. They lost 600 employees and an impressive art gallery of works by Rodin... for some reason I remember my father telling me all about the art gallery. New Yorkers are strong and resilient and eternally optimistic. We heal and we move on... and we will never lose sight of those who have suffered and lost.

So well said, every single line. I am always stunned by what gets so much air time or press. Thinking about all those who were lost today.

I have been saying the same thing all week - this idiot is loving the pressed and attention! Who knows what the media/govt is thinking by giving this moron a forum!
