Little Edie Would Have Been Proud

So glad HBO's Grey Gardens walked away with the Golden Globe for best miniseries/movie during last night's awards program. And, even better, Drew Barrymore won for her portrayal of Little Edie Beal in the same film. She was amazing in that role, as if channeling Miss Beal herself.

I'm sure the real Little Edie (pictured above) would have performed a song and dance in honor of the event.

I ADORED Grey Gardens and was so happy to see that it won last night! I thought Drew Barrymore was sensational - her accent was spot on and she just fit the role so well. Her dress choice last night, though, was certainly not my favorite - while I didn't mind the stuff on the shoulder of her dress which resembled Christmas tinsel, I cannot say the same for the same stuff being wrapped around her hip!

I was thrilled as well! Grey Gardens was such a treat to watch and only someone like Drew Barrymore could bring an eccentric like Edie to life (for a second time).

Never saw Grey Gardens but I thought that Drew looked and acted like an old Hollywood Movie Star with class and grace.

Agreed! Isn't it amazing to watch an actor BECOME a role? Kudos to Drew!

Didn't see Grey Gardens, but did watch the Golden Globes. Drew was absolutely stunning and (I don't know why!) I was so proud of how well she handled herself with such style and grace. She has come such a long way...
