Date Night with Leo, Mark and Scorsese

Hubby and I had a date night on Saturday and saw Scorsese's Shutter Island. Tell me, does Leonardo DiCaprio age at all? I think he's a great actor, but seriously, he's Dorian Gray. There's a portrait in an attic somewhere that's growing old while he remains youthful looking.

Great tribute to Hitchcock - I recommend seeing it. Mark Ruffalo stars as well and I think he's such a cutie (probably not the best description for him in this serious role, but I can't help it - he's adorable). We figured out what was going on fairly early in the film, but there are some moments that throw you off. It was definitely one of those films that had you talking about it well into the next day.

Have you seen this film yet? Did you like it?

We're gearing up for my daughter's birthday this week - she's turns the "Big Five" on Wednesday. Yep, five years ago at this time I was on bed rest, not knowing if we were having a boy or a girl. The big adventure was about to begin! More details on the birthday girl later in the week.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Matt and I saw it on Saturday as well! I thought it was fabulous...we've been talking about it ever since then. Definitely lots of twists and turns!

And agree - Leo DOES NOT AGE. What's his secret fountain of youth?

YAY for birthday girl's big birthday week!!!

This is the first I'd heard of it but it sounds right up my seat - men in hats always have my full attention.

My little one is turning 5 in a couple of months and I have been looking at the neatest party ideas all over the web. 5 years goes so quickly!

Really it was that good. Tell the truth was it scary?

Yes, there were some scary moments, like something jumping out at you. And, then there were some more disturbing moments, more psychological in nature, as opposed to guts and gore.

I can't wait to see this...we rarely make it out to the movies, but for this I think we might have to make an exception. I agree, Leonardo will never age and always has this boyish charm about him.

Happy birthday to your little girl!

Thanks for the review. This movie is on my list to see once I get my life back to normal and have time for movies again.

Sounds like a great date night. Have not seen the movie but it's on our list ~ which means I'll end up renting it in a few months :)

Can't wait to see the pictures of the special day.

I also saw it Saturday. Like you...was on to the twist early...but it was still an entertaining psycho-thriller. Scene at the lake was just gripping.
Interesting DeNiro cameo.

I'm dyyyying to see this film! I know! Leo is like Peter Pan or something..he creeps me out a bit:) I'm a big Hitchcock fan so I'm sure I'd love it and Mark Ruffalo is so adorable I'd have to go just to see his quirky smile:) x LZ

I can't wait to see Shutter Island, though my husband thinks it looks too intense. Usually he does fine in tense movies, while I'm covering my eyes and grabbing his arm at every twist and turn! I have it in my Netflix queue just in case I miss it in the theater, but I really hope to see Shutter Island before it goes to DVD. Thanks for the recommendation!

That movie is definitely a DVD rental. I don't think I could take it in the theater! (I am a wimp!!!) Love Criminal Minds - and that can get pretty intense, but on the big screen? Too scary... LOL

Happy Birthday to your little one!
