Pure Barre Anyone?
Has anyone tried Pure Barre and if so, what do you think? A new Pure Barre studio has opened in my hometown, in fact, not far from my house. I was reading about this form of exercise just last week and then last night, read about the opening of this new studio. The website states that,
The Pure Barre Technique is a total body workout that burns fat and produces lifted seats, toned arms, thin thighs, and flat abs by fusing elements of ballet, pilates and weights in a 55 minute intense session. It is the most effective, fastest, yet safest way to change your body.
Hmm. Due to the weather, I've been sticking to our treadmill. Good workout in a comfy setting (no New Year's Resolution crowding at the gym). But, I was intrigued when I heard about Pure Barre. So, if you know anything about it and can attest to whether it's a good workout and perhaps worth signing up for, let me know your thoughts.
It's a cold Monday for many of us. The snooze button was hit several times. Hope you had a good weekend. We spent Friday night with friends, eating a good meal and laughing our heads off. Then on Saturday, my parents came over for chili and a sad, sorry bowl game in which my Wildcats lost. Boo. And, of course we then heard about the tragic events in Arizona. Sending prayers to the victims and their families.

I am going to my first barre class tonight! I will let you know how it goes.
Jen,
Very expensive, but it works. It is really big in Birmingham. Reminds me of the old (82) Jane Fonda workout.
My daughter may join, but students get a big discount.
It is so horrible in Arizona. Scary to realize that these nuts are all around us. We all probably know one.
Have a great day, Jen.

I have not tried it because there aren't any local studios but I have friends on the West Coast who have and they are in incredible shape. Of course any workout is only as good as the amount of effort you put in to it!

Hi we can not say enough about this amazing work out.The girls and I have been Lotte Berk Method fans for years! It will change your body! But watch out for stairs until at least 3 to 4 classes.
Wow that does sound like an amazing
work out... I have not heard of Pure Barre.. but the ballet exercise is something that I have thinking about myself. Let us know if you give it a try and what you think. xo HHL
I can't wait to find out about this exercise. I have not heard of it as of yet.

It looks like ballet class...
I love it. I need to start it again. I did it when I was in really good shape (running 3-6miles 5 days a week). After one class my body was letting me know about every muscle that i didn't know I had.
Looks intriguing--we don't have any Pure Barre studios in our area, but I'd be interested in giving it a try.
I'm hoping a studio will open near me soon--this looks like fun and I've heard great things about it from friends. My favorite class of late is zumba. I really feel accomplished when I'm done! ;)
ive always wanted to do one of the classes. i think there may be videos available. let us know if you go to a class!
I have heard great things about it. I do mat pilates and Adore it. Pilates has really toned my body. Right now do not have the Barre method in my budget.
I have been thinking about trying this. I have friend who tried and said it kicked her butt.
Still not prepared to discuss the weekend's games.
I hear Pure Barre is amazing.
I have heard about these around Lexington and would looove to go to one when I move there this summer!!! I do know that it is all the hype on my Facebook everyone seems to love it.
ok so to follow up, I went to my first class on monday and loved it! I was sore yesterday and I am still sore today. It is def a good workout. I am going back tonight. They say after 2 weeks you should be able to see a difference!
Kerr, that's great to hear! A group of us are going on Sunday and I'm hoping that I'll be able to walk the next day! From what I've heard, it's quite the workout. Plus, the price is a bit steep. But, we'll see how it goes. Glad to know you liked it!
If you try it - let me know. It sounds wonderful.
