Cherokee Triangle Art Fair in Louisville's Highlands neighborhood
Did everyone have a great weekend? The sun made a rare appearance on Saturday, so we took full advantage of it, spending as much time as possible outdoors. After our daughter's soccer game, we hit one of our favorite annual events, the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair, perusing the streets filled with wonderful arts and crafts. The kids joined in the fun at a music tent and children's craft area. Their favorite part, though, was petting the police horses. Yep, they were enthralled with the beautiful on-duty equines. Thank, God, I didn't get the question, "Mom, may I have a pony?"
We ended the weekend at a baby shower for some good friends who are welcoming their first child in June. The gathering took place at a beautiful home where we dined on a gorgeous veranda by the pool. Our friends were even able to open a few gifts outside before the rain began. Oh, well. At least Mother Nature kept it dry for a little while.
So, let's see, what else happened this weekend? Pope John Paul the II was beatified and London is trying to recover from the royal wedding activities. All good things.
And, there was something else, hmm. I'm trying to recall. Oh, yeah, the world is finally rid of Osama Bin Laden.

Hip Hip Hooray! Osama is gone! The news was quite exciting, but it did making finishing my paper quite hard last night!
I was struggling this morning trying to keep my anger at bay after reading a Facebook post from one of my cousins about an eye for an eye and how she's disgusted over our rejoicing somebody else's death. So this was my response...
I remember reading an article about the movie Life Is Beautiful and how a reviewer could not believe that the movie was making light of the Holocaust. And the response was, “wow. he totally did not get it”. That’s how I feel today. No we aren’t celebrating somebody’s death. We are celebrating our country’s perseverance. An eye for an eye? Try two eyes for over 6,000 eyes on Sept 11.
There. I feel better now.
Love the picture of the firemen.
Well said, Tiffany. It's amazing what dolts are out there. This is a major triumph over terrorism. When we commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11 this year, perhaps yesterday's events will finally resonate with some folks.
yes, yes....busy weekend across the globe!
im actually glad i was indulging in bad tv, watching the celebrity apprentice when the special report broke in!
Read about what happened when the soldiers got Osama and took the dead body, it almost was described like an exciting action movie. We can just hope that this didn't just kill one person but also weaken the whole organization.
USA! USA! So great to all be on the same team, despite our country's differences.
It's been so strange cheering while saying, "We killed him!". Never thought I would that. But what a celebration for us in America!
