It's official...my baby boy, Prince William and his darling Kate Middleton are engaged! I call him my baby boy because I remember when he was born and have watched him grow up, as we all have, into a wonderful young man (although, I would like to point out that I am only nine years older than him).
Diana would be so proud of you, Wills. Kate, all the best to you on this momentous occasion. I wish you all of the happiness in the world.
And, to the media and paparazzi: Don't mess with this young lady, or this couple for that matter. Let them be.

I remember when Diana got engaged...I stayed up all night to watch the Royal wedding and I confess I was an avid Royal watcher...
They are both just darling! I can't believe he is grown up. I wish them the best.

I think they both seem like such lovely people. Although I am very excited to hear the rumors and speculations of the wedding, I hope they are not bothered too much by the paparazzi.

i remember setting the clock so i could get up and watch the wedding...i was enchanted..to say the least...and so sad....i was married in 1981...at a courthouse

Oh how I remember that July, 1981... I was 12!
I couldn't get enough of all the buzz today. And how sweet and touching that he gave her his mum's engagement ring, I have always loved it!
Back in '81, the Royal Wedding was a huge deal here in Canada, and as a loyal subject of the Queen, I was up at the crack of dawn to watch the lovely Diana get married. Must do the same for her boy!
The Mister asked me this morning why I was so happy to hear this announcement, and I told him I was just glad to have a distraction from all the other news. Truthfully, I'm excited--a royal wedding!
I have to admit to getting a bit choked up when I saw Diana's ring on her finger. God Bless Them both! And yes, papparazzi be gone!!!
